Community rules
Last updated October 20, 2026
Be honest, disclose brand ties and be kind. These rules cover owner reports and the weekly vote.
The rules
- Report only paddles you own or owned, and only your own experience with them.
- Be accurate about hours played and problems. Don't exaggerate in either direction.
- Disclose brand ties. If you are an ambassador, have an affiliate or discount code, are sponsored, got the paddle free or discounted, or work for a brand, say so. In an owner report, choose "Free or discounted from the brand" when it applies.
- Keep discount codes on the Codes page.
- Be kind. No personal attacks, harassment, hate or threats.
- Keep other people's personal information private.
- No spam, selling or fake accounts.
Brand ties, including ours
This site earns a commission on some affiliate links and codes. They are disclosed on the Codes page and next to each link. Affiliate status never changes owner totals, review scores or evidence labels.
Paddles an owner got free or discounted from the brand are labeled in every owner total they are part of.
How owner numbers work
Each paddle page shows anonymous totals from owner reports. Here is exactly how those totals are made.
- What is published: totals for each paddle only. Emails, comments and individual reports are never published.
- Minimum number of reports: until 5 owners have reported a paddle, its page shows only the number of reports and total hours. Owner ratings need 5 ratings for that attribute.
- One report per email per paddle: a newer report from the same email replaces the older one. Reports without the consent box ticked are never counted.
- Checked before counting: a person reviews these before they count: more than 25 hours of play a week, a first problem after more hours than were played, "has a problem" with no problem ticked, the same answers as an earlier report, and 5 or more reports with problems on one brand within 48 hours. Identical answers sent within 30 minutes are treated as one report sent twice.
- Never filtered by opinion: reports are not removed for being positive or negative.
Structural problems are core crush or a dead spot, face delamination or bubbling, and a cracked or loose handle. Grit wear, edge guard separation and rattles are counted and shown separately, not as structural problems.
The durability curve appears once 20 owners have reported a paddle and at least 3 have had a structural problem at a known hour. It shows the share of reported paddles still free of structural problems at each number of hours played. It uses the Kaplan–Meier method: a paddle that is still going strong after 60 hours counts for those 60 hours, then leaves the count without being treated as a failure. The shaded band is the likely range (a 95% interval), and the curve stops where fewer than 5 paddles are still being tracked.
Limits: owners choose whether to report, and people with problems may be more likely to report. Read the totals as owner experiences, not lab tests.
Corrections: owners and brands can ask us to recheck a total through the request form. We recheck the reports behind it, but we do not remove honest reports.
When rules are broken
Reports that break these rules are left out of the totals. Repeated abuse is blocked. Questions about a decision can go through the request form.
