The 01XR2 is more conventional than the foam MARK releases, but that is not a bad thing. A 5.75-inch handle with a hybrid face at $140 is useful, and the 115–118 SW range tells me it is not pretending to be ultralight. I would mainly want to know how the wide-cell core feels next to newer foam paddles and how much surface life you actually get.
