Enhance is releasing the limited-edition Turbo MPP Blackout tomorrow (July 17 at 7 PM EST). One nice thing this time is that Enhance already has inventory in hand. That means if you order tomorrow, it should ship out almost immediately, instead of having to wait weeks for a preorder to be fulfilled.
I still think the Turbo MPP is easily one of the best MPP foam paddles you can buy for around $99 with the SLICE20 discount code. The pocketing, dwell time, feedback, and overall feel are genuinely impressive for the price, and it's one of my favorite value paddles this year.
That said, there's one thing I'd keep in mind before pulling the trigger.
The Blackout still uses the current raw carbon fiber (RCF) surface, so while it performs really well, the grit will eventually wear down like most traditional raw carbon fiber faces.
The reason I bring that up is that Enhance has already talked about what's next.
They're working on a new ArmorGrit surface, and according to the owners, they've replicated the same wear-testing methods used by many of the leading paddle reviewers. Their goal is for ArmorGrit to achieve Tier 1 durable grit performance, with the updated Turbo lineup currently expected around August.
They've also teased a new premium paddle called the Echo, which is also expected to launch with ArmorGrit. There aren't many details available yet, but it's definitely another paddle I'm looking forward to learning more about.

My Take
If you've been waiting for a cleaner-looking Turbo MPP and want one right away without having to deal with preorder delays, I think the Blackout is a really cool option.
However, if your biggest priority is long-term spin retention, I'd probably wait another month or so for the ArmorGrit version. If Enhance delivers on its durability claims, it could make one of the best value MPP paddles even better.
Either way, it's great to see Enhance continue improving the Turbo platform rather than standing still.
