The highly anticipated Vatic Pro V-core full-foam core paddles, priced at just $99, have encountered a setback on their road to release the V-core series at the end of this month. In an urgent update shared by the company, the team announced an indefinite postponement of the current VCORE model following durability concerns.
Over the past few weeks, as more reviewers and players got their hands on the paddles, feedback highlighted a disbonding issue when exposed to real-world conditions, particularly under sunlight. Initial factory oven tests had failed to replicate this problem, but real play exposed the flaw at a rate the team deemed unacceptable.
The company traced the root cause to core density and the indent design, which they believe led to poor bonding between the core and surface layer. Rather than push forward with a subpar product, they’ve opted to completely revamp the VCORE design.
The revamped VCORE will feature a more fluid and robust EPP structure, reducing stiffness and improving the sweet spot, though with a slight trade-off in power. The indent design will also be overhauled to enhance the bond strength between layers, improving long-term durability. A prototype of this improved design is expected to be ready for review next month.
Kudos to Vatic Pro for making this tough but commendable decision. It’s never easy to delay a launch, but it shows their dedication to quality and customer trust. I’m confident they’ll come back with something even better for the future!
The company emphasized that this decision reflects its commitment to durability and player feedback. There’s no embargo on sharing this news; they want players and reviewers to know that quality comes first, even if it means a delay.
Stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks as the redesigned VCORE takes shape.
